Pickering Associates was hired to design a new library in South Parkersburg, W.Va. Pickering Associates handled all of the engineering design work, surveying and construction administration for this project. Wood County Library desired to build a single story facility approximately 7,000 sq. ft. to service the south side of Parkersburg. The client chose the site selection for the facility and worked Pickering Associates and Bostwick Design Partnership.

The project included a children’s section, a main section, various common areas, meeting rooms, a break room, a reception desk, and restroom facilities. The team worked closely with the clients to ensure that the facility met all of their specific requirements and technology scope. In order to help with the marketing of the new facility, Pickering’s BIM Technology and 3D Modeling produced a complete 3D model replica to showcase the new library. The design was able to give a visual image to the design team, the clients, and the construction team.
