Marietta Memorial Hospital approached Pickering Associates and a local architect to design a state of the art office complex to house medical and administrative offices for the hospital. Pickering Associates provided the electrical and mechanical design as well as construction administration, our primary disciplines.

The project was built in a floodplain and had an elevated first floor to be used for parking and mechanical areas. The mechanical room was designed with water tight doors and other systems in order to place these systems below anticipated flood levels and save the valuable, rentable square footage above.

The project was challenging because of multiple tenant requirements and several redesigns necessitated by tenants changing locations after construction. Today this building is the pride of the community and overlooks the Ohio River, surviving three major floods in the last few years.
