John Bentz has been a member of Pickering Associates since 2013, and just celebrated his 5-year anniversary with the company. John works as a Civil Engineer, a BIM Specialist, and FAA-licensed Drone pilot. As of the start of 2018, he became a licensed Professional Engineer with a Water Resources and Environmental Depth. Before coming to Pickering, John’s career started on a very different path. John started college as an Accounting major and later transferred to Ohio University for engineering where he tested every kind before finally settling on Civil. John also completed some graduate level courses at Ohio University, and is now working towards completing his Master’s degree in Engineering Management from Marshall University. After he finished his Bachelor’s Degree and as part of an assignment for graduate schoolwork at Ohio University, John went back to work at his alma mater High School assisting with the STEM education program before joining Pickering Associates.

Outside of working at Pickering, John is a very active member of his Church community. Serving on various councils, committees, and participating in various fundraisers to better the community. His hobbies include hunting, golfing, fishing, and all outdoor activities.

When asked what his favorite thing about working at Pickering was, John replied, “There are two things, Being able to work in Civil allows for me to work on all kinds of different project. The second thing is the family feel that an organization like Pickering has. You get to know your co-workers and be able to enjoy each other’s company.“
