Jeff has been a member of the surveying department and Pickering family for the past four years. Jeff started his 29-year career in 1989 where he graduated with an Associates in Science in Land Surveying from Glenville State College in West Virginia. Right out of school he began working for Vernon Surveying in Marietta Ohio and was with the company for 23 years. In 2012 Jeff started working for BHG Surveying and came over to Pickering Associates when the companies merged in 2014. Jeff specializes in Construction and Industrial Surveying including interior work around process areas. “Something people might not realize about my job is the how involved we are during the construction phases. Many people assume we do the front work and are done, which is not the case, we are as much involved at the beginning as we are in the end of a project” commented Jeff. “We also have a great deal of repeat jobs and clients for various environmental work. One may not realize that something such as landfills and dams, need to be surveyed and monitored for years to ensure the area is stable, and not going to fail. It’s not just take readings and leave we are constantly revisiting sites and inspecting sites.”

Outside of work Jeff and his family enjoy traveling on weekends, outdoor activities, a volunteer for the Boy Scouts, and he is currently working on remodeling his home. When asked what his favorite part about being a part of the Pickering Team he responded, “Pickering takes care of their employees and they are willing to work with you and appreciate the work you are doing. Not many people enjoy their jobs because they feel unappreciated by management, and that is not the case here at Pickering. Though Jeff is out of the field currently with an injury he is still busy at work here at the office and is getting around quite well without crutches, and all hoping for his speedy recovery.
