Jesse has been a member of the Pickering Family for the past 5 years. Though he started out as an Environmental Scientist, Jesse has since then transitioned into Pickering’s Project Management group for the past year. Jesse started his career after graduating from Marietta College and began working for a Non-Profit in the Mid-Ohio Valley called Friends of Lower Muskingum River where he worked under a Grant as the Watershed Coordinator. It was a 4- year grant through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and in year 3 of the position he met the Pickering Team. Working on a project together for Larry Lang Jesse coordinated with Mark Welch and a member of the Pickering Family at the time, Amy in the Civil Engineering Department. The groups were collaborating on a Mitigations project for Larry Lang, and when the project was finishing out Jesse offered his Environmental services for the Pickering Team, and he was called for an interview shortly after.

Outside of the office, Jesse is first and foremost a family man, his wife Jenny works as a Physician’s Assistant at Genesis Hospital. They have two children, a little boy Coleman, and a new baby girl, Camille. When he has time, Jesse enjoys the outdoors, especially Rabbit Hunting with his dog. Jesse and his family are very involved with the youth group at their Church in Cambridge OH. Jesse serves as a youth leader every week for the kids and helps out organizing retreats, and activities for the kids.

When asked about his experience with Pickering Associates, Jesse responded “from a Project Manager perspective it’s exciting to see the BIM initiatives on projects as well as the new ideologies that come with it. Combining the discipline and seeing the product is awesome to experience. Being a newer PM on the team to have the support staff that I do is great, and it’s great working with such intelligent designers and colleagues.” When asked what Jesse’s goals are within the company, he explained his hope for this year to expand his Project Manager portfolio into the Commercial side of projects and well as Healthcare. With the goal to be not only a well-rounded PM for the team but a multidiscipline Project Manager that can help wherever he is needed on projects. When asked what Jesse’s favorite thing about Pickering Associates Jesse stated, “it’s a great place to work, if you look around every corner there are new opportunities available to you, and in that every discipline is there and are always open to new approaches for different projects.” Thank you, Jesse, for your years with the company and Happy 5 year work-iversary with the team!
