As a company we continue to grow and add new faces to our five offices. One newer face to the mix is Mr. Sean Cottrill, EI, who joined us in March of this year and is located in our Fairmont office. Sean is a member of the Structural Engineering department, and in that has been a valued member of the team. Though a newer full-time addition, Sean’s journey with Pickering began in 2015 when he worked during the summer between his Junior and Senior year of college as an Intern with Eric Smith. After graduating from WVU in 2016, Sean received a job as a Structural Engineer at MR Structures in Waynesburg, PA before returning to Pickering Associates this year. This year has brought on many changes for Sean. Not only did he get married August 4th and honeymooned in Maui, Hawaii; Sean will also be moving to the Parkersburg Office at the beginning of 2019. When asked about the transition between offices, Sean commented, “Though I have really enjoyed my time at the Fairmont Office, I am excited to be a member of the Parkersburg Office and to be closer to the Structural Team there.”
Outside of work Sean enjoys many outdoor activities such as kayaking and horse-back riding. He also enjoys traveling. Sean and his wife are looking to make travel plans for the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, and Northern Europe: Denmark, Sweden and Norway! Sean also is seeking to get involved again with the ASCE, American Society of Civil Engineers, to help the teams prepare, as well as judge local competitions. Sean has been a valuable member of the team here at Pickering Associates and we look forward to celebrating his one-year work anniversary with us this coming March!
