Pickering Associates was fortunate to hire Pamela Wean this past December of 2017, to manage Pickering’s new office in Fairmont, WV. Pam is a graduate of Fairmont State University, where shortly after graduation, Pam accepted a position as a drafter for Blackwood Associates in Fairmont. Her career pursued to Ohio, where she accepted a position with Levin Porter Associates and became a licensed Architect. She remained with the firm for eight years, where in 2000 she moved back to Fairmont and was hired again at Blackwood Associates. From there she received a position at MSES Architects in Fairmont, before being hired at Pickering Associates to manage our new office. Pam hopes to remain with Pickering throughout the remaining duration of her working career.
On a personal note, Pamela is married and has three children, David, Jordan, and Chloe, as well as two grandchildren, a dog and two cats. Her various hobbies include antiquing and re- purposing furniture and other items into something brand new. Other areas of interest that Pam and her family enjoy is spending time outdoors, traveling to various places both domestic, including Colorado and North Carolina, and overseas including Austria, Germany, and other European countries. Pam is also a volunteer in her spare time at the local hospital as a “Cuddler,” where she holds infants who are born addicted to drugs and/or alcohol. Pam mentioned that this, “is very rewarding knowing you can help just a little by comforting these sweet and innocent babies.”
When asked about her thoughts on the new office and the position with Pickering, Pamela stated “I feel fortunate to be starting up the new Fairmont Office. This is my home-town and it’s exciting to be downtown where you can often run into someone you know from the past or present. We plan to have an official grand opening, to spread the word that we are open for business. With my co-workers, Jeremy Hobson and Sean Cottrill, we hope to increase our client base, bring in new projects and help expand the newest Pickering office as soon as we can.” Pickering Associates is excited to welcome Pamela to the family, and we look forward to seeing her success in Fairmont and with the company!
