As a Company, Pickering Associates values many things: community, clients, quality, and partnerships; but an area that Pickering values the most is its history. Owning and progressing from your roots is important in the Mid-Ohio Valley community and important to the work performed here at Pickering. Before the company offered surveying services, BHG Surveying was an independent surveying business in the area. BHG was well known for their quality services and partnership with clients. BHG was established in 2000 by William Showalter and Randall Cline II, co- workers at another company that decided to go out on their own and develop their own business. For 14 years BHG grew and developed into a high-quality surveying firm, where once someone was a client they were always a client.
“When someone would ask us to jump, we would answer them in midair, that is how much we value our customers” commented Bill.
Before purchasing BHG, Pickering was a major client, and BHG grew to the point where it rented facility space from Pickering for their headquarter operations. As Bill stated, “at that point it only made sense to combine forces, we were already there working together on every project and as a corporation Pickering could offer our staff substantial benefits, an offer we couldn’t refuse.” The companies merged in 2014, and now offer clients start to finish full-service Architecture, Engineering, and Surveying at the highest quality.
