Pickering Associates Structure won Most Cans, People Choice, and Best Original Design.

On March 15th – 16th AIA WV hosted the 2019 Canstruction event at the Clay Center in support of the Covenant House in Charleston, West Virginia. Pickering Associates has been fortunate to participate in this event for the past six years and to have been able to donate over 15,000 cans of food over that time. With the help of our partner George Washington High School and our sponsors, Piggly Wiggly, Sherman Williams, One Source Paolicelli Associates Inc., and so many more we were able to donate around 5,000 cans of goods this year and to have staff members give their time and talents to making this a reality.

This year’s theme was “Declaring War on Hunger,” so our team called in the best to handle the job, Snoopy and the Red

Baron, the dog, the myth, the legend. A timeless classic to all, the display featured an original design by our Architecture, Engineering and Marketing team, Snoopy in mid-battle with the Red Baron. The structure not only won the Most Cans Award at the event, but it also won Best Original Design and the People’s Choice Award. Congratulations team on another great year! We would like to say thank you again to all of our sponsors who helped to make this event possible!
