As the Mid-Ohio Valley’s premier architecture, engineering and surveying firm Pickering Associates has been expanding rapidly. Within the past year, over ten professionals have been added to our team, and we’re not done yet.
Clients in our area, and far beyond, continue to expand, and it’s our pleasure to assist them with any and all needs they may have. To do this, however, we need talented and goal-oriented professionals to round out our team. Could you be a member of our team? Here’s what we’re looking for:
Piping Designers
Pickering Associates has an opening for an experienced piping designer with experience developing piping and instrumentation diagrams, piping plans, piping isometrics, piping layout, field dimension/layout and piping bill of material. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience, an associate’s degree, technical trade school certification, or equivalent work experience. Candidates with fabrication and materials knowledge preferred. The successful candidate will display a record of superior attention to detail and have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Mechanical Engineers
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Professional registration is highly preferred but not required. Candidate must be extremely well organized with an emphasis on high-quality work with the ability to deliver fast and accurate turnaround times. Experience with multiple mechanical systems design including HVAC, equipment specification, selection, and layout, and piping and plumbing systems highly preferred. Experience with writing detailed reports is a plus.
Structural Engineers
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering. Both entry and senior level positions available. Professional registration is highly preferred but not required. Candidate must be extremely well organized with an emphasis on high-quality work with the ability to deliver fast and accurate turnaround times. Knowledge of current industry practices and standards required. The structural engineer will prepare construction drawings, make detailed calculations, and prepare construction cost estimates. The applicant should be interested in designs utilizing various materials applicable across multiple sectors (commercial, industrial, institutional). Applicants should possess basic project management skills associated with the design/construction process. Experience with writing detailed reports is a plus.
Civil Engineers
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with 5-10 years experience consulting and design/drafting experience. Professional registration is highly preferred but not required. A PE license is required within 2-3 years of employment. Candidate must be extremely well organized with an emphasis on high-quality work with the ability to deliver fast and accurate turnaround times. Knowledge of current industry practices and standards is required. The civil engineer will create grading, stormwater designs, site plans, utility plans, roadway designs, sediment/erosion control drawings, general land planning, and prepare construction cost estimates. This position requires experience in the planning, layout, and review of civil contract drawings and specifications. The candidate must have experience performing field inspections and applying code requirements. Applicants should possess basic project management skills associated with the design/construction process. Experience with writing detailed reports is a plus.
