This morning, the new South Parkersburg Library celebrates their Grand Opening to the public. After months of work, this new 7,000 sq. ft. library branch replaces the older facility on Blizzard Drive. With a welcoming, well-lit interior, tall windows and modern features, the new building is an exciting addition to the Parkersburg community.
Larger than the previous facility, the new building allows the branch to more than double the amount of materials housed inside, as well as increase the number of computer stations and reading areas. A children’s area and community meeting space are also included in the programming.
Pickering Associates partnered with Cleveland design firm, Bostwick, for the design, and provided Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, and Structural Engineering and Surveying services.
Senior Project Manager, Adam Leachman, says “It brings me great satisfaction to see this library open its doors to the public.”
