The Mid-Ohio Valley’s premier Architecture, Engineering and Surveying firm recently expanded their Project Management team and promoted new leadership from within the company.
Pickering Associates is proud to announce that Mark Welch, PE, is taking on a new role within the Project Management group. Mark is a Professional Engineer that has been with Pickering for over 11 years and has previously been serving as the Civil & Structural Engineering Manager. Mark will now be moving into a new role that will utilize his talents to manage large projects for both industrial and commercial applications. After obtaining his Master’s in Engineering Management, Mark will also bring the skills and knowledge obtained through training and years of experience to assist in the growth of the Pickering Associates Project Management Office.
I’m excited to serve in this role because I have learned that communication and creating a strong relationship with our clients is a very key part of a successful project,” said Mark. “In this new role, I will be able to utilize my skills and focus on client relationships, project management, and will be able to help lead the company for years to come.
Zac Campbell, PMP, is also taking on a new role within the Project Management group. Zac is currently the Electrical and Controls Systems Engineering Manager and has been with Pickering for over nine years. He leads a team of engineers that provide electrical and controls system engineering expertise to industrial, commercial and institutional accounts. After obtaining his Master’s in Engineering Management and Project Management Professional certification, Zac began to focus on growing his skills as a Project Manager also. Zac will be bringing the skills and knowledge obtained through training and years of experience to assist in the growth of the Pickering Associates Project Management Office.
“I am excited to be able to bring the concepts and standards of delivery taught through the PMP and adapt them to the Pickering Associates methods that have already been so successful over the years,” exclaimed Zac. “With this new role, I feel it will allow me to have a more hands on approach with our clients, and in the end develop a consistent, quality project in all of our business sectors.”
Pickering Associates is also excited to announce that Nick Arnold is stepping up as BIM (Building Information Modeling) Coordinator and will take the lead in facilitating cross-discipline model integration. Nick has a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Miami University of Ohio and is currently pursuing a Masters in Technology Management at Marshall University. Nick has been with Pickering Associates for more than nine years, directing the 3D printing and 3D scanning resources and being involved with a variety of industrial and commercial jobs.
“This position will enable me to help our design team build a clearer picture of their designs much earlier in the project timeline,” Nick explained. “Having this clarity early on in the project lets our clients make higher value design decisions from the start where they have the most potential to save time and cost. This BIM Coordinator role is one way Pickering Associates is offering clearer communication of goals, deeper conversations around the design itself and ultimately accelerated project delivery.”
All three positions within the Project Management team allow Pickering Associates to improve project delivery and ensure all projects are completed with quality and consistency.
